Run the streets of the Presidency capital!

Created on 2014-09-23

Registration for next year’s Lattelecom Riga marathon 2015 has officially started! This event will bring together tens of thousands of runners and their supporters from all over the world and unite them under the flag of a healthy and active lifestyle. Latvia as a presiding country of the Council of the European Union invites everyone to come together and enjoy the beautiful streets of Riga, concerts and each other in the biggest running celebration in the Baltics!

A special symbolic kilometer devoted to the Latvian Presidency of the Council of the EU will be included in all distances. The “Presidency kilometer” will start from the very heart of Riga - the Freedom Monument. It will stand out with a wide range of cultural and musical performances along the way allowing everyone to enjoy Latvian culture and to get to know the presiding country from interactive and entertaining perspective.

The Riga Marathon will celebrate it’s 25th anniversary next May, therefore it is especially significant that this event takes place in a light of broad international attention – during the time when Latvia is the presiding country of the Council of the EU.

The Presidency team “EU2015.LV” is ready to continue the running tradition and will participate in next year’s marathon on May 17. Everyone is invited to enjoy the special “Presidency kilometer” activities and the joy of being together. Decide, register and start your training program to prepare for the big event. It’s only eight months away!

Let’s celebrate our presidency together in an active and healthy way!

See you all there!
